A Letter of Appreciation

Let me first give a huge thank you to the Steeler fans who came to the recent celebrity weekend from around Richmond, Virginia, but also who came from all parts of the country, including a fan I met who drove down from Canada!
The support you show for the work of the James Farrior Foundation was evident by the number of people who battled the brutal heat of the weekend of June 10th– 12thin order to either participate in the bowling or golf events, or to come out and watch us avenge last year’s loss to the Richmond Police Department in softball at the Diamond.
I know many of you had a good time and it’s fun for us too, however, the ultimate goal is to raise funds so we can administer the programs for the underserved and at risk youth of Richmond and the surrounding area. We met our goal financially and that is directly attributable to the support of the fans, our sponsors, the media getting the word out, and the volunteers doing a fantastic job in making this the best celebrity weekend that I can remember.
Richmond is a great city with so much to offer and the people there are certainly very loyal and supportive of our efforts and for that I am very grateful! While we all wait to hear word as to when / whether we will have football this year, keep in mind that once the season starts, the work of the foundation will continue and we’ll continue to need your support!
Please accept my gratitude and I look forward to seeing you at next year’s event!
